Rockford,IL : 4 transported after Poplar Grove crash on January, Tuesday 9th 2018
Four people were transported to the hospital following a three-car crash Tuesday afternoon at the intersection of Illinois Route 76 and Orth Road, according to the Boone County Sheriff’s Department.
A preliminary investigation shows that sometime around 5:10 p.m. a vehicle heading west on Orth Road ran a stop sign at the intersection, striking a vehicle, which caused a chain reaction that resulted in a third vehicle being hit, Sheriff Dave Ernest said.
Everyone involved — the driver of two of the vehicles and driver and passenger of the third — was transported to be treated for injuries sustained in the crash.
“Right now it doesn’t appear to be anything life-threatening,” Ernest said.
Officials remained on the scene several hours later for the investigation. No further information was available.
