Walnut Creek, CA : Police seek witnesses to fatal San Leandro car crash on April,Thursday 13th 2017
Police are asking for the public’s help in finding witnesses as part of their investigation into a collision that claimed an elderly resident’s life late last month.
At 4:55 p.m. March 31, officers responded alongside firefighters and paramedics to reports of a collision at East 14th Street and West Juana Avenue.
There, they found Helen Lally, 75, suffering from serious injury. Paramedics drove her to a hospital, where she died later.
“We offer our condolences to Ms. Lally’s family and friends,” San Leandro police Lt. Robert McManus said in a statement. “This is truly a tragic loss. Anytime we lose a member of our San Leandro community, it has the potential to impact everyone.”
Investigators spoke with the other vehicle’s driver, a 74-year-old San Leandro woman, and said she has cooperated fully and that neither alcohol nor drugs appear to be contributing factors. Any charges in the incident will hinge on investigators’ ability to determine a cause.
