UNION, MI : An Elkhart man was killed in a single-vehicle crash in Cass County on Tuesday, December, 19th 2017

An Elkhart man was killed in a single-vehicle crash in Cass County Tuesday morning.

According to a report from the Cass County Sheriff's Office, officers responded to a report about a rollover crash in area of Mason Street and Union Road at 4:44 a.m.

Officers said the driver of the vehicle lost control on icy roads, veered off the road and overturned.

The driver of the vehicle, Daniel Staley, 48, of Elkhart, was ejected from the vehicle. Staley was pronounced dead at the scene, according to police.

Investigators said Staley was not wearing his seat belt and intoxicants are not suspected of being a factor in the crash.

The crash remains under investigation.
