RICHMOND, RI : Man taken into custody after stolen vehicle crash in Richmond on Wednesday, 31st July 2024

A 17-year-old juvenile from Connecticut was taken into custody after he allegedly stole a vehicle and crashed it, according to Richmond Police.

According to officials, the teen fled the scene of the crash in the roundabout near Town Hall and Richmond Elementary School.

Police were assisted by Rhode Island State Police and their K-9 team, and the town of Charlestown.

Ultimately, officers located the suspect on the outside grounds at the elementary school.

Police found him down and hiding in the greenhouse at the end of the property.

He was taken into custody without incident.
