Wrong way driver causes uproar in Miamisburg
Police were forced to drop a distress call to get a wrong-way driver under control.
Officers responded to the on ramp of Interstate 75 south from State Route 725 Friday afternoon to investigate a crash.
Witnesses told police they saw the car traveling north in the southbound lane before crashing.
Police say the driver struggled with them during the arrest which triggered the officers to drop an ‘officer in trouble’ call.
Police also noticed the man had a gun, so they used extra precautions while making the arrest. Officers said the man does have a carry permit for the weapon.
The man complained of a medical condition and was taken to the hospital to be checked out.
Police say he is from the West Chester area and was heading to Dayton for a family event.
Luckily, no one was hurt.
Traffic was backed up for some time, but is now flowing again.
