STAFFORD, NY : Oakfield resident killed in crash on Thursday, December, 28th 2017

An Oakfield resident was killed in this morning’s fatal accident on Clinton Street Road.

Tracy B. Carpenter, 54, was pronounced dead at the scene, 5882 Clinton Street Road. Carpenter was driving east when it went into the other lane and collided with a tractor trailer driven by Fay B. Warner, 67, of Geneseo. Warner was unhurt, the Genesee County Sheriff’s Office said.

The Sheriff’s Office received a call about the accident at 12:25 p.m.

“Weather was not a factor in the cause of the accident. The cause of the accident is still under investigation,” the Sheriff’s Office said.

The accident is being investigated by Deputies Jenna Ferrando, Joseph Loftus and Christopher Erion, as well as the Genesee County Crash Reconstruction Unit. The Sheriff’s Office was assisted at the scene by the Stafford, Byron, South Byron and Bergen fire departments, Mercy EMS, Genesee County Coroner Donald Coleman and state police.
