Spartanburg, SC : One person died after a deadly crash involving a tractor trailer near Old Petrie Road on Friday morning, August 26, 2016

A portion of South Pine Street in Spartanburg County was shut down Friday morning after a deadly crash involving a tractor trailer, according to troopers with the SC Highway Patrol.
The crash happened just after 4 a.m. near Old Petrie Road, according to the SC Highway Patrol’s website.
Troopers said traffic was down to two lanes while crews worked to clear the wreckage. Drivers were being redirected by emergency responders at the scene.
The coroner confirmed one person died in the tractor trailer.
Coroner Rusty Clevenger said the truck caught fire after it crashed and his office was working to identify the victim.
Just before 5:30 p.m., the coroner identified the victim as 33-year-old Desmond Rachmin Smith of Lawson Fork Creek Drive in Boiling Springs.
Cause of death is pending autopsy and toxicology.
