One person is dead and two more are injured following a single-vehicle crash Saturday night in Carbon County, Pennsylvania State Police said.
The crash occurred at 7:15 p.m. on the Northeast Extension of the Pennsylvania Turnpike near mile marker 82.4 in Penn Forest Township, state police Cpl. Lisa Jobe said. She declined to provide further information as state police made notifications to family members.
According to a traffic advisory on the Turnpike's website, which is timestamped 8:10 p.m., an accident occurred in the northbound lanes of Interstate 476 between Mahoning Valley and State Route 903. According to that advisory, the accident was blocking the right lane.
As of 10:15 p.m., Jobe said state police were still on the scene. By that time, she said, traffic was not backed up.
