New Philadelphia, OH : Millersburg man dies in buggy crash on Friday, 14th October 2016

PAINT TOWNSHIP A Millersburg man operating a buggy Friday morning when his buggy was struck by a vehicle traveling in the same direction.

According to the Holmes County Sheriff's Office, Roy A. Mast was traveling east on county Road 160 in Holmes County when he was struck from behind by a 2001 Chevrolet S10 pickup being operated by an 18-year-old Apple Creek man.

Mast was ejected from the cart at impact. The horse pulling the cart also died. The cart was pushed off the side of the road into a ditch and the truck traveled a short distance and came to a stop down the road. Neither the cart nor truck had passengers.

Assisting deputies at the scene were Winesburg Fire and EMS and the Holmes County Coroner.
