Las Vegas, NV : Motorcyclist killed in Overton crash on Thursday, July 28, 2016

A man who died Thursday a motorcycle crash in Overton has been identified by the Nevada Highway Patrol.

Jody Cordell, 39, of Las Vegas, was riding a blue Suzuki MC Racer about 1 p.m. on North Shore Road, north of mile marker 31, when he drove off the roadway, onto a left curve and into desert terrain, officials said.

Cordell was ejected from the motorcycle and died on scene, officials said.

Investigators said they believe speed was a factor in the crash.
