Eagle Point, OR : Woman killed in motorcycle crash on Butte Falls Highway on Tuesday night, May 10, 2016

A woman died Tuesday night after her motorcycle crashed on the Butte Falls Highway.

The Jackson County Sheriff's Department reported 31-year-old Michelle Leigh Groubert of White City died after her motorcycle left the road near milepost 11 for an unknown reason around 7 p.m., and that she was dead when officers arrived. A passing motorist called in the wreck.

Capt. Nathan Sickler said the department and medical examiner are still investigating how the crash happened. No witnesses have yet come forward.
