Cromwell, CT : Two Hospitalized After Being Struck By Drunk Driver on Shunpike Road early Sunday morning, July 17, 2016
A local woman operating her vehicle under the influence struck a motorcycle, injuring both passengers and shutting down the road early Sunday morning.
Cromwell Police said they responded to the crash on Shunpike Road, between Sanford Lane and Sovereign Ridge, after midnight and that both occupants of the motorcycle had been ejected.
Both the operator and the passenger had serious physical injuries and were transported to Hartford Hospital. The operator was in serious, but stable condition and the passenger was in critical condition.
Police identified the driver as 43-year-old Ursula Cinque of 177 Shunpike Road. She has been charged with operating a motor vehicle under the influence and was held on $25,000 bond. She will appear in Middletown Superior Court on July 18.
Cromwell Police, along with the Mid-State Accident Reconstruction Squad is actively investigating the crash and asks anyone with information to contact Officer Sarah Alicea or Sergeant William Kogut.
