Atlanta, GA : Woman killed after hit-and-run crash in south Fulton County on Thursday, March 5, 2015

Officers said a woman is dead after a hit-and-run on Fulton Industrial Boulevard near Mendel Drive.

Several Fulton County police cars blocked the northbound lane of Fulton Industrial while investigators collected evidence Thursday night.

Police said a 39-year-old woman was rushing to catch a MARTA bus when she was hit and killed.

At this point, police aren't sure what type of vehicle hit the woman, but after talking to witnesses, they believe it was an SUV.

Police said the driver took off. The woman died at the scene.

Police are asking anyone who was in the area around 8:15 p.m. Thursday to give them a call.
The MARTA bus driver saw the accident happen, but couldn’t see what type of vehicle it was because it was too dark.
