WAKE COUNTY, NC : One person was killed and another injured during a single-car crash in Johnston County on Monday, 1st January 2018

One person was killed and another injured during a single-car crash Monday in Johnston County, authorities said.

The accident occurred on Buffalo Road near Sullivan Road. One victim died at the scene, and a second victim was rushed for medical treatment to a local hospital. The patient's condition was pending.

Authorities have not publicly disclosed how the wreck occurred.

It was at least the second reported fatal crash in the Triangle of the new year.
