MERRIMAC, MA : Single-car crash on Interstate 495 in Merrimac on May, Monday, 22nd 2017

State police and Merrimac emergency vehicles responded to a serious single-car crash on Interstate 495 in Merrimac around 2:45 p.m. Monday that trapped the driver inside the vehicle. A medical helicopter was requested to respond to the scene but was called off because of bad weather conditions.

The crash took place on the northbound side of the highway just south of exit 53. Initial reports indicate the car struck a guardrail and then rolled over on a grassy area along the highway.

State police reported the driver sustained serious injuries.
