Monett, MO : Ash Grove man injured in I44 crash on Friday, 7th October 2016

An Ash Grove man was injured in a wreck Friday at 7:45 p.m. on Interstate 44, 10 miles east of Mt. Vernon.

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, Leon Hess, 55, of Hot Springs, Ark., was driving a 2015 Hyundai westbound and stopped for traffic congestion when his vehicle was struck from behind by a 1999 Toyota, being driven by Trevor Frazier, 23, of Ash Grove.

Frazier suffered moderate injuries and was transported to Mercy Hospital in Springfield. Hess was not injured.

Hess was wearing a safety device, and it is unknown if Frazier was wearing one. The Hyundai suffered moderate damage, and the Toyota was totaled.
