HILL CITY,SD : Names released in fatal crash on July, Sunday 23th 2017

A Belle Fourche woman has been identified as the person who died Sunday in a vehicle-motorcycle crash northeast of Hill City.

A 1984 Ford Mustang was westbound on Calumet Road when it stopped at the stop sign at the intersection of Calumet Road and U.S. Highway 385. The vehicle proceeded into the intersection where it collided with a 2007 Harley Davidson XL1200L. The motorcycle was part of a three-motorcycle group traveling northbound on U.S. Highway 385.

Julia Myers, 54, was driving the motorcycle which collided with the vehicle. Myers, who was not wearing a helmet, was thrown from her motorcycle. She was later pronounced dead at a Rapid City hospital.

Evelyn Thompson, 82, of Rapid City was driving the Ford Mustang. She was wearing a seatbelt and was not injured. Charges are pending.
