Haysville, KS : 63-year-old Wichita woman killed in a crash in south-central Kansas on Tuesday night, March 2, 2016

A 63-year-old Wichita woman was killed Tuesday night in a crash on the Kansas Turnpike near Haysville in south-central Kansas, authorities said.

The fatality victim was identified as Sonephila Phanh.

According to the Kansas Turnpike Authority’s accident log, Phanh was driving a 2012 Honda CR-V north on the turnpike, which is Interstate 35 at that location. Phanh’s car had been damaged in a previous accident and was traveling at a low rate of speed.

According to the accident log, Phanh’s car was struck by another northbound vehicle, a 2007 Hyundai Azera driven by Jacob Edward Donlay, 26, of Wichita.

The turnpike authority said Phanh was taken to an area hospital where she later died. She was wearing a seat belt, according to the turnpike authority.

Donlay was reported injured in the crash and also was transported to an area hospital. The patrol said Donlay wasn’t wearing a seat belt.

The crash closed both lanes of northbound traffic while emergency responders cleared the scene. Northbound I-35 was reopened again around 2 a.m.
