Jefferson, LA : Motorcyclist killed in car collided with his motorcycle on Thursday September 24 2015.

A man is dead after a car collided with his motorcycle Thursday (Sept. 24) on River Road in Old Jefferson, Louisiana State Police said. Authorities said the car's driver failed to yield to the motorcycle at a stop sign when turning onto the road.
Jacob Ward of Metairie, 22, was killed. He was driving a Suzuki GSX 600F motorcycle west on River Road before the accident occurred around 7 a.m.
Blair Guidry, 23, of Lafitte had stopped her 2013 Nissan Sentra at a stop sign on Dodge Avenue as she waited to turn onto River Road. Upon turning onto the road, police said, she failed to yield to the motorcycle and pulled into its path.
Ward's motorcycle struck the side of Guidry's car, ejecting him. He was wearing a helmet but died at the University Hospital in New Orleans.
Guidry wore a seat belt and was uninjured.
State Police said in a press release they do not suspect impairment to be a factor. Routine toxicology tests, however, will be performed on Ward, and Guidry was cleared of alcohol involvement after submitting to a breath test.
