One person is dead after being struck and killed by a vehicle in Plain Township.

The Stark County Sheriff's Office is investigating after the pedestrian was struck on U.S. 62 West at Regent Ave NE. Authorities say the driver of the vehicle failed to stop and continued westbound on 62 after the accident, which happened around 11 p.m. Thursday.

The pedestrian, identified as 56-year-old Terri Calhoun of Canton, was taken to Mercy Medical Center where she later died.
