Davenport, IA : Driver killed in a fatal single-vehicle crash on Davenport’s west end Thursday morning, May 5, 2016

Davenport police are investigating a fatal single-vehicle accident Thursday morning on Davenport’s west end.

Police think the driver of a Dodge Dakota pickup traveling west experienced a medical problem while driving about 11:20 a.m. Thursday in the 1800 block of West Rockingham Road. The Dakota hit a parked, unoccupied Chevrolet Silverado pickup along the north side of Rockingham Road.

The driver was declared dead upon arrival at Genesis Medical Center-East Rusholme Street. First-responders attempted life-saving measures.

No information on the driver is being released at this time, pending notification of family.

The investigation is being conducted by the Davenport Police Department, Traffic Safety Unit. Further information will be released when available.
