VIRGINIA BEACH, VA : 1 with life-threatening injuries after 3 vehicle crash on First Colonial Road in the 500 block of First Colonial Road on Friday, 4th January 2019

Multiple injuries were reported and at least one person was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries following a crash Friday night on First Colonial Road.

The three-vehicle crash happened around 7:40 p.m. in the 500 block of First Colonial Road, dispatchers say. That's near where First Colonial meets I-264, between Walmart and Target.

Dispatchers originally fielded the call as a single-vehicle accident, but police later said there were three vehicles involved.

Officers are at the scene investigating and the road is expected to be closed until about 11 p.m., but other details are not available at this time. Check back for updates.
