Two people were killed after a crash in Columbia

Two people were killed after a crash in Columbia early Tuesday morning.

Columbia Police said just after midnight a Nissan Pathfinder was driving north in the southbound lanes on Highway 63 just north of Vandiver Driver.

A minivan, John Brenneman, 38, was driving north on the highway and hit the SUV head-on.

Both drivers were pronounced dead at the scene.

Columbia Police said it's unclear if drugs or alcohol were contributing factors.

Police also said excessive speed did not play a role.
