MANATEE COUNTY, FL : Six young people were injured and three critically in a three-car crash on Sunday, July 9, 2017

Six young people were injured, three critically, in a three-car crash on Interstate 75 on Sunday night, the Florida Highway Patrol reports.

According to an FHP report, Steve Boyce, 19, of Brandon was driving a Kia Sportage with four passengers north on I-75 near mile marker 219 at about 7:30 p.m. Boyce made an improper lane change and struck a Nissan Frontier driven by Brenda De Amicis Boisvert, 20, of Quartz Hill, California. The Nissan was pushed into a Hyundai Veracruz driven by Lisa Guastella, 55, of Auburndale.

The Kia overturned and ejected two people, one onto the roadway and the other on the shoulder, FHP says.

Boyce, who was wearing a seatbelt, was critically injured. Also critically injured were his passengers Michelle Enriquez, 18, of Riverview and Austin Kennan, 20 of Brandon; neither was wearing a seat belt. Passengers Jorge Adriazola, 18, of Town ‘N’ Country and Rafael Rivera, 17, of Bradenton, who were wearing seat belts, received minor injuries, according to the FHP report.

De Amicis Boisvert, who was wearing a seat belt, received minor injuries.

Guastella and her two passengers, who were all wearing seat belts, were not injured.

The crash is under investigation.
