Troopers said one person is dead after a car hit a motorcycle on US 76 in the Pendleton area Saturday evening.
The crash happened around 7:40 p.m. near Williams Road.
The road was blocked after the crash but lanes reopened around 9:30 p.m.
Troopers said a 76-year-old Anderson woman driving a 2002 Toyota was entering US 76 from a private driveway and struck a 2006 Harley Davidson that was heading west.
The motorcyclist, a 47-year-old from Pendleton, died at the scene. Troopers said the victim was not wearing a helmet. The motorcyclist was later identified by the coroner as Robert Reynolds.
Reynolds was just four minutes away from his home, the coroner said. He was coming from a bar when the car pulled in front of him, the coroner continued. There were no drugs or alcohol in his system, per the coroner.
The driver of the Toyota was cited for failing to yield right of way, troopers said.
