FREDERICKSBURG, IA : Fredericksburg man killed in crash on Tuesday, 18th July 2023

A Cedar Rapids man struck a pedestrian from Fredericksburg, who died of his injuries on Tuesday.

According to Iowa State Patrol, 85-year-old Edmund Emerson was traveling on US 18 west of Falcon Drive when he struck a pedestrian in the roadway. The report was filed around 4:45 p.m. on Tuesday.

Authorities say that 78-year-old Jerome Leach was transported to an area hospital, but died of his injuries.
