Atlanta, GA : 2 killed in DeKalb crash on Friday, 16th September 2016

A man and woman were killed early Friday after their car left a DeKalb County roadway and struck a tree.

The accident, which occurred in the 8500 block of Old Covington Highway, temporarily shut down part of the highway, according to the WSB 24-hour Traffic Center.

“After leaving the road, the vehicle struck a tree killing the male driver and female passenger,” DeKalb police Maj. Stephen Fore said.

The accident is under investigation.

The victims’ names have not been released, pending notification of next of kin.
