One woman was charged after causing a wreck in downtown Morganton on Monday afternoon.
Daphne Ann Diehl, 53, of Fairview, N.C., was charged for running a stop sign at the intersection of Bouchelle and East Meeting streets and colliding with another vehicle, said Public Safety Officer M. Gates.
Diehl was driving along Bouchelle Street toward East Meeting Street as another vehicle was coming from downtown when she collided with the other vehicle .
“From what witnesses say and evidence at the scene it appears the red Honda Pilot never slowed down and went through the intersection in front of the Honda Civic as it was coming down East Meeting (Street) ... the Pilot pulled out right in front of it,” Gates said.
