5 Injured in Separate Crashes on Carlsbad California
Five people were injured in two separate crashes along Interstate 5 in Carlsbad Saturday night.California Highway Patrol reports that the accidents occurred at about 9:15 p.m. in the northbound lanes of the I-5, just south of Palomar Airport Road.
A woman driving a Jeep hit a truck containing two passengers, according to witness reports to CHP officials. The female driver then reportedly hit a Kia Sorento which had four occupants.
One of the passengers in the Kia was ejected from the vehicle, officials said.
In all, five people were treated for injuries sustained in the accidents and at least three of those injured were transported to area hospitals, according to officials.
CHP officials at the scene told NBC 7 that the driver of the Jeep may have been drinking.
