Los Angeles, CA : One person injured in crash on I-5 near Lake Hughes Road on Friday, March 6, 2015

California Highway Patrol responded to a two-vehicle collision on the Interstate 5 near Lake Hughes Road that left one person severely injured, according to authorities.

CHP received reports at 8:52 p.m. of the crash, which involved a white Nissan Frontier and white Nissan sedan two miles north of the Lake Hughes Road exit, according to CHP Officer Alex Rubio.

One person was transported to Henry Mayo Newhall Hospital with what appeared to be severe injuries, said Michael Pittman, a spokesman for the Los Angeles County Fire Department.

No other information about the injured individual was released.
