Ellsworth, WI : Hudson man injured in Pierce County crash on Tuesday, August 16, 2016

A Hudson man was injured when a semitrailer truck rear-ended his car while trying to turn off Highway 65 in Pierce County Tuesday.

David G. Evans, 63, had to be extricated from his 1982 Cadillac Eldorado and was taken to Regions Hospital in St. Paul with undisclosed injuries.

According to the Pierce County sheriff’s office, Evans was traveling northbound on Highway 65 at about 7:37 p.m. when he stopped to turn west onto 650th Avenue. A 2012 Peterbilt semitrailer driven by David M. Himes, 56, Mechanicsville, Iowa, struck the rear of Evans’ stopped car, causing it to enter the east ditch.
Himes was uninjured.

The accident remains under investigation.
