Salt Lake City, UT : Woman seriously injured in head-on Utah County crash with semi-trailer rig on Friday, 4thNovember 2016

A woman was in serious condition Friday morning after her car collided head-on with a semi-trailer rig on a Utah County Interstate 15 off-ramp.

Utah Highway Patrol Trooper Evan Kirby said the woman was transported to the hospital by ambulance after the collision at Exit 284 from I-15 to Lehi about 7:30 a.m. Her injuries initially were not considered life-threatening, UHP said.

Troopers said it appeared the woman was driving the wrong way when she first struck a car, and then plowed head-on into the big rig.

Other details on the crash were not immediately available, as troopers had just begun their investigation.Northbound traffic was backed up more than a mile as emergency crews worked to clear the wreckage.
