Torrance, CA : A motorcyclist was critically injured today in Torrance in a collision on Sunday, September 10, 2017

A motorcyclist was critically injured today in Torrance in a collision with a midsize sport utility vehicle, police said.

The crash occurred about 8:30 a.m. as the motorcyclist traveled east on the 2500 block of Plaza del Amo. A vehicle pulled out of a driveway to go west and struck him, Torrance police Sgt. Ronald Harris said.

The motorcyclist suffered major injuries and was taken to a local hospital. The driver was not hurt.

The eastbound lanes of Plaza del Amo were closed for the investigation.
