Buffalo, NY : 1-year-old girl hit and killed by a car in Buffalo on Thursday evening, July 7, 2016

Police in Buffalo say a 1-year-old girl hit by a car has died.

Relatives identify the victim to local media as Rian Nicole Davis. She was struck Thursday evening.

Her grandfather, Leonard Lane, tells reporters Rian was his youngest grandchild. Lane is the president of FATHERS, a group committed to reducing violence in the city.

Police haven’t released details of the accident and say it is under investigation.
