Decatur, TX: Wise County Justice of the Peace Terri Johnson among 4 Killed in wrong way Road Accident South of Decatur on April 26th 6 pm

Wise County Justice of the Peace Terri Johnson was driving the wrong way on Highway 287 Saturday evening when her car plowed into a sport utility vehicle, state troopers said.

Johnson and three other people were killed.

Texas Department of Public Safety spokesman Lonny Haschel said Johnson was driving a Volkswagen Passat going south in the northbound lanes of Highway 287 near County Road 4228, four miles south of Decatur.

Shortly before 6 p.m., Johnson's car collided head-on with a Chevrolet Trailblazer traveling north.

Johnson was killed, as were three people in the SUV. A four-year-old girl in the Trailblazer was seriously injured and taken to Cook Children's Medical Center in Fort Worth by helicopter ambulance.

Johnson has served as justice of the peace in Precinct 2 since 2007, and was unopposed in the most recent election. According to her official biography, she and her husband have two sons.
