Terre Haute, IN : Terre Haute man dies following dump truck accident on February, Saturday 17th 2018

A Terre Haute man died Saturday at an Indianapolis hospital following an industrial accident on Friday.

Shawn Chilton, 38, was injured while operating a dump truck at a Misco Industries site at 3600 N. 13th Street, according to an initial report from the Terre Haute Police Department. His employer, ST Construction, announced his death via a post on its Facebook page.

“It is with unbearable sorrow that we post of the passing of Shawn Chilton,” the business said. “He had a beautiful soul who brought out the best in all of us. Rest In peace dear friend.”

The Marion County Coroner’s Office notified Terre Haute Police about Chilton’s death and indicated an autopsy is scheduled for today, according to Shawn Keen, assistant police chief.

Keen said no other information was available for release Sunday.
