Meridian man faces charges in hit-and-run in Idaho

An 18-year-old Meridian man was arrested on suspicion of running a red light and leaving the scene of an accident after a bicyclist was struck by a car in Boise.Police say the woman was riding her bike across an intersection shortly after 7 a.m. Thursday when she was hit by a car. Witnesses told police the driver didn't stop.Investigators say Alexander Thackery parked his vehicle in a nearby parking lot and started walking back toward the intersection. He called 911 and told dispatchers he was about two blocks from the crash scene.The woman was taken to the hospital. Police say her injuries did not appear to be life-threatening.Thackery was expected to be arraigned Friday.
