BURGAW, NC : 2 Marines killed in motorcycle crash on February, Wednesday 21st 2018

The N.C. Highway Patrol has identified two Camp Lejeune Marines who were killed when their motorcycles collided last weekend.

Troopers told local media outlets that 23-year-old Brent Phelps was on a motorcycle they say was speeding and crossed the center line on a Pender County road and hit another motorcyclist head-on.

Authorities identified the other victim as 23-year-old Colin Cernik. It’s not known if they knew each other, but WITN-TV in Greenville reported the two men both were assigned to the 2nd Marine Aircraft Wing.
