Lisbon , MD : One man was killed after lost control of his car & hit Guardrail and Troo[per was injured on Sunday afternoon , January 25th 2015
A Maryland man clocked driving more than 20 mph over the speed limit was killed after crashing his car, and a state trooper was injured trying to help him.
Maryland State Police say the trooper's radar unit clocked 47-year-old Matthew Groves' car at 69 mph in the town of Lisbon on Sunday afternoon. The speed limit was 45 mph.
Police say the trooper made a U-turn to follow the car, but didn't activate his emergency lights and lost sight of the car. Moments later, the trooper found the car crashed and lying upside-down.
As he ran to help, the trooper slipped on debris, breaking his leg. Groves was killed in the wreck.
Police believe Groves lost control of his car, which hit a guardrail before overturning.
