Umatilla County, OR : Kennewick woman killed two-vehicle crash on Highway 395 in Pilot Rock on Saturday February 20 2016

A Kennewick woman was killed Friday afternoon in a two-vehicle crash on Highway 395 in Umatilla County.
Alexxyss L. Therwanger, 20, was northbound on the highway in a Buick Century near Pilot Rock when she failed to make a lefthand curve in the roadway, said a release from the Oregon State Police. The Buick crossed over into the southbound lane and collided with a Lincoln Continental driven by Francis Charles Wimberley, 60 of Prairie City, Ore.
Therwanger was declared dead at the scene. Wimberley was taken by air ambulance to Kadlec Regional Medical Center in Richland with serious injuries. Donnetta Marie Kulis, 54, also of Prairie City and a passenger in Wimberley’s car, was taken to St. Anthony’s Hospital in Pendleton with serious injuries.
The crash closed the highway for more than an hour. The investigation into what contributed to the crash is ongoing.
