Las Vegas, NV : Pedestrian hit and killed by pickup at South Nellis Boulevard on Saturday night , January 17th 2015

A pedestrian was hit and killed by a pickup Saturday night in the southeast valley, Metro Police said.

The accident happened about 5:30 p.m. at South Nellis Boulevard and East Sun Valley Drive. A Chevrolet pickup was south on Nellis when it hit the pedestrian at the intersection, police said.

The man was taken to Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead. He did not have ID and has not yet been identified, police said.

The driver of the truck remained at the scene and provided a statement to police, officials said.
