EL PASO, TX: 18-year-old charged with intox manslaughter after crash that killed 17-year-old El Pasoan on Friday, 5th January 2024

The El Paso Police Department has said that the person who died on Loop 375 East near Fonseca Friday morning was a 16-year-old resident of northeast El Paso and that the 18-year-old responsible for the crash is being charged with intoxication manslaughter.

As the Special Traffic Investigation unit continues looking into a deadly crash that occurred early Friday morning on Loop 375 East near Fonseca, a release from EPPD has identified the underage victim as Anahi Karla Leanos of northeast El Paso.

According to EPPD, when Leanos's car broke down she believed she was out of gas and pulled over to the left-hand emergency lane.
