Lorain, OH : Four people hospitalized after crash in New Russia Township on Monday, 16th April 2018
The Ohio State Highway Patrol responded to a three-car crash that injured four people at 10:25 a.m., April 17, on state Route 58 just south of Russia Road in New Russia Township.
A 30-year-old woman from Racine, in Meigs County, Ohio, was charged with going left of center, a minor misdemeanor, while traveling south on Route 58 and striking a 42-year-old Elyria man going north, according to a trooper.
A 58-year-old Wellington woman was behind the Elyria man going north saw the crash coming and swerved into a ditch on the east side of the road, the trooper said.
According to the Highway Patrol, a 78-year-old female passenger also of Wellington was inside the 58-year-old woman’s vehicle.
All three drivers and the passenger were taken to Mercy Allen Medical Center in Oberlin, the trooper said.
Both female drivers were released with minor injuries.
The Elyria man was transported with non life-threatening injuries to MetroHealth Medical Center in Cleveland.
