Grand Haven,MI : 1 dead in semi crash on M-120 on May,Monday 21th 2018

One person is dead following a semi-truck crash in Muskegon County on Monday, May 21.


The crash forced authorities to close the road for most of the day. M-120 was reopened shortly after 3 p.m.

The crash happened around 7 a.m. on M-120 (Holton Road) between Michillinda and Ryerson roads, just south of Twin Lake. Michigan Department of Transportation closed down northbound and southbound M-120 around that time.

According to police on the scene, a semi hauling two big trailers of construction aggregate collided with another vehicle. The semi tipped over and, according to a witness, caught on fire.

Police confirmed that the driver of the semi was killed in the crash. Police on the scene told WZZM-TV that the driver of the second vehicle was hospitalized.

The material the semi was hauling spilled all over road and into the nearby ditches.
