Roanoke, VA : 80-year-old Bedford woman killed in a three-vehicle wreck on Friday, June 2, 2017

State police identified an 80-year-old Bedford woman killed in a three-vehicle wreck on U.S. 221 near Forest Middle School Friday afternoon.

Elinor Sperburg Wilson, who died at the scene, was wearing her seatbelt, according to a state police news release.

The state police also released details determined by its investigation of the wreck.

About 3:35 p.m., a 2002 Buick Le Sabre traveling east on U.S. 221 crossed the center line and sideswiped a 2012 GMC Acadia. The Buick Le Sabre then hit a 2007 GMC Envoy head-on.

Wilson was in the Le Sabre, state police said.

Multiple people were injured in the wreck, according to the state police. Information on the other people injured was not immediately available.

Four other people were involved in the wreck, according to The Lynchburg News & Advance.
