Two people are dead after a two-vehicle crash on Old Myrtle Road.

A preliminary investigation showed that around 1:45 p.m., an SUV and a motorcycle were traveling on Old Mill Road when the crash took place. The man and woman on the motorcycle were pronounced dead at the scene.

The woman driver of the SUV was taken to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Suffolk police said the intersection of Old Myrtle Road and Old Mill Road is closed. All traffic is being detoured at this time. The intersection is expected to remain closed for several hours because of the investigation.
