A driver struck and killed a person who was trying to cross a road just outside of the city of Lancaster Thursday afternoon.
According to the South Carolina Highway Patrol, the fatal wreck occurred around 3:05 p.m. on SC Highway 914 near Jefferson Street in Lancaster County.
Troopers say a 17-year-old was driving a 2000 Chevy Impala when the pedestrian reportedly crossed the road.
The pedestrian was airlifted to Carolinas Medical Center but died, Highway Patrol said. The victim's name was not released.
Troopers have not said whether the teen will face any charges.
