Juneau police say a 33-year-old man died Wednesday night when his vehicle struck a tree.
The man was not immediately identified because next of kin had not been notified.
Police just after 9 p.m. took a 911 call that a vehicle had struck a tree on Mendenhall Boulevard in the Mendenhall Valley.
The driver died at the scene and two passengers were injured.
Police say a 50-year-old man was taken to Bartlett Regional Hospital with apparent life-threatening injuries.
A 30-year-old woman was treated for minor injuries and walked away from the crash.
Police say high speed and alcohol may have contributed to the crash.
Police closed Mendenhall Boulevard for four hours as they investigated.
