HENRIETTA, NY : Byron-Bergen grad, boyfriend killed in I390 crash on Monday, October, 30th 2017
A Byron-Bergen High School graduate and her boyfriend were killed when their car crossed into oncoming traffic and collided with an umarked state police car on Intestate 390 Monday, state police said.
The crash closed I-390 in Henrietta for seven hours.
Kristina Maye, 25, was driving south about 9 a.m. when her car inexplicably crossed the median and went into the northbound lanes. Her car collided with an unmarked police car driven by Lt. Amie Feroleto.
Both cars overturned and a third car was unable to avoid them and drove into Maye’s car.
Maye and her boyfriend, Terry Gilbert, 25, of Rochester were pronounced dead at the scene.
Feroleto was taken to Strong Memorial Hospital with serious injuries. State police said her injuries were not life-threatening.
Two people in the third car were not injured, troopers said.
Police do not know why Maye’s car crossed the median.
I-390 re-opened about 3 p.m.
