Webster Parish, LA : One man killed in car crash Highway 371 Doc Steed Road on Saturday January 9 2016.

A car crash in Webster Parish claimed the life of a Sarepta, La. man Saturday night.
Louisiana State Police say the crash happened around 8:30 p.m. on Doc Steed Road, just east of US Highway 371.
Preliminary reports suggest that a 2011 Ford F-150 driven by 54-year-old Stephen Matthews was traveling east on Doc Steed Road when his vehicle exited the left side of the roadway and struck a church building.
Police say Matthews was not wearing his seat belt and was ejected from his truck. He was pronounced dead at the scene by the Webster Parish Coroner.
State police say speed and alcohol may have been contributing factors in the wreck.
A toxicology sample was taken from Matthews and will be submitted for analysis.
The crash remains under investigation.
